Mr Atul Bhatt, the Principal of Shalom Hills International School, started his illustrious teaching career at the Scindia School, Gwalior in 1994. During his 17 years' of academic career there, Mr Bhatt created a special niche for himself as an Economics teacher by not only producing good results but also inculcating a thirst and love for learning in his students. This came naturally to him as he had completed his Masters in Economics from MSU (Baroda) and his B.Ed from Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
Mr Bhatt went on to add to the intellectual pool of the Commerce faculty and at the same time, also involved himself actively in encouraging formation of societies, taking an active part in games, sports and social work. He also spent a term in the U.K. at Ellesmere College and played cricket for the local team (Ellesmere Club).
He was the School’s Round - Square representative and also headed the school's Teacher and Students’ Exchange programme which have provided him with a global perspective. Adding another feather to his cap of achievements, Mr. Atul Bhatt has been a part of the pilot project of the British Council for the ISA programme, which is today gaining great popularity in Indian schools.
In the last five years, Mr Bhatt has headed two schools and been part of the Management at Fabindia, Bali. During his headship, Taurean World School in Ranchi was ranked among the top schools for two years by an Education Survey. 'Education is not limited to just class-room teaching but goes far beyond it', Mr. Bhatt feels, adding that “academic rigour is at the core of a good school”.
It will be his endeavour to bring about academic excellence in the school, and with his cache of experience in games, sports and extra-curricular activities, he will also guide and encourage the teachers and students to expose themselves to the world around them. Mr Bhatt looks forward to making Shalom Hill International School into a happy and happening place with the active involvement of teachers, students and parents and the support of the Management.
