Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), formerly M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), is an autonomous private engineering college located in Bangalore, Karnataka and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University headquartered at Belgaum, Karnataka, India. The college was established in 1962. Since August 2007, RIT has been academically autonomous for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs. While VTU will still award the degrees, the college has academic freedom in framing its own schemes of study, curricula and student evaluation. RIT offers undergraduate and graduate courses of study and research including Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration and offers programs leading to award of PhD in various disciplines. RIT is also a research centre in 12 areas including engineering and management disciplines. RIT is the only engineering college in Bangalore that is autonomous for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The institute has academic alliances with Intel, IBM, Schneider Electric, JSW Steel Ltd, Cognizant EMC, Nokia and other multinationals. It also partnered ISRO in 2010 to build the Stud Sat nano satellite and RIT was chosen in 2012 to join the consortium of colleges that would assist ISRO in the present l StudSat-2. The institute is also credited for the development of India’s first unmanned air vehicle (UAV) with an autopilot system.

MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology BTech Minimum Eligibility 2020
A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two- year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT.
The eligibility for admission is 45% in case of General Category and 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1 and OBC Category candidates. The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/technology courses).
RIT BTech Admission and Selection Process 2018
Admissions to the 4year undergraduate engineering programmes are given on the basis of the KCE or COMEDK UGET scores. The college admission s are governed by VTU which accepts these exams for admission to the university itself and the affiliated colleges.
Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) to offer admissions to interested candidates in various undergraduate as well as professional courses, offered by different colleges in the state of Karnataka.
Candidates need to appear for CET in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects to secure admissions in Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy courses whereas those seeking admissions in Engineering / Technology courses conducted by KEA need to appear for entrance exams in Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects.
Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED K) conducts a state-level examination called COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) to offer admissions to interested candidates in engineering and medical degree courses offered by colleges/institutes that are affiliated to COMEDK. The entrance test will be based on the existing syllabus of either 10+2 or 2nd PUC and candidates have to be thorough in all the topics taught so as to make it to the top COMEDK UGET colleges.
RIT BTech Application Process 2020
The candidates will have to apply online for admission in RIT. They can download the application forms from the official website. Fill the application form with the required details and make sure the information is complete and accurate. Incomplete or faulty information in the application form is subjected to cancellation. The forms are then to be physically submitted at the college admission department. COMEDK UGET 2018 Application Process Candidate have to apply online on the official website of COMEDK UGET in order to appear for this exam. Candidates can purchase the KCET 2020 brochure-cum-application forms from the schools or colleges mentioned in the information brochure. However, candidates who purchase the brochures from schools/colleges need to submit the duly filled KCET 2020 application forms to the respective schools or colleges. On the other hand, candidates who have received the brochure-cum-application forms for the entrance exam through ‘Speed Post’ need to send the duly filled application forms by speed post directly to Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) on or before the last date of submitting applications. For applying to any of the BE programmes, a candidate must have appeared and met the minimum marks limit set for Karnataka CET or COMEDK by the University. And also needs to ful fill the following eligibility criteria:
§ A candidate should have passed his or her class 12 or equivalent level of examination from a recognized Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any other optional subject Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology.
