My interview in Christ was a bit nerve wracking. Starting by the usual introduction about oneself, they asked ‘Why Christ’ and I gave them the answer they wanted. And then they asked me ‘Where did I see myself in next 10 years?’. I had happened to watch Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara a couple of days back and the life of Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) is quite fascinating in the movie. Not having quite a solid answer to the question, I said, “ I see myself as a stock broker in a London based stock exchange”. I kinda had the feeling that I had crossed my own limit and my bad, the next question came like a thump on my head “What was the closing point of sensex yesterday?”. Forget sensex, I really didn’t have much clue about stock exchange themselves other than that was where Leonardo Dicaprio was working in Wolf of wall street. And bang, the next question, “what is nifty?” My brain thought it the nicest moment to go for a siesta as i tried remembering hard what was the definition in my 12th Business Environment text book. Like I said, my brain was enjoying its siesta!
Then they asked the full form of SEBI, to which I was very sure I had replied correctly and to add salt to my wound, they said it had been changed and there’s another one! (It wasn’t changed, they were testing me!)
They asked some other questions to which I answered not very satisfactorily, and they summed it up with a micro presentation about how smoking is injurious to health and I repeated the same line two-three times until they said fine!
I was now well convinced I had better apply at St. Joseph’s College as well as I was sure to miss out on Christ!
But the saddest moment came when I asked my friend how his interview was and he said it went fine. His answer to the question “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?” is the best reply I have ever heard for the question in a college interview. He said he wanted to be a priest!! And thus he smartly avoided all sort of technical questions from the panel! I was, mind blown, by the presence of mind he had shown (he had whatsoever no intention of becoming a priest!) and cursing my fate of not having thought of such an answer!
Anyhow I was selected into Christ, mainly because there were a lot of prayers from my family’s side. And I still cower behind my friends if I happen to see the two teachers who had asked me the questions. Thankfully, they seem not to remember me, God’s Grace, Alas!
After that skill assessment test began we were given 10 minutes and we had been given 2 essays to write on the topics were
After writing our essay a volunteer gave back our admit card along with our BBA application form which we had already sent to the college while applying.
Then we were told to verify our 10th and 11th marksheet.
After which we waited outside a big room and there were many small cabins in the room and interviews were going on each of these rooms simultaneously.
Now I was called for my interview there were 2 people in the panel (probably the ultra small cabins was each professors cabin, the space was quite less) one was a female looking very serious let's call her f and other panelist was a male who seemed quite jolly (not much) let's call him M.
I get inside the cabin
Me: Good morning madam, Good morning Sir.
F:*asks me to close the door while I was doing it F tells M it's afternoon not morning
Me: *I don't know but I felt F told M about that in a casual way so I didn't take it seriously
F: please have a seat.
