Description

Call — 09108585198 for direct admission in Christ University, Bangalore through management quota 2020.

Truly Let me lay you down with the condition of CHRIST as a University now. It really was good when it was an Autonomous College then Under Bangalore University.

As a University, CHRIST is deteriorating every year. Gone are the days when students used to get really good placements in CHRIST. However now the quality of education has decreased as the number of students have increased in CHRIST.

The students have no freedom here. Trust me most of them are hindered to stick between 9 to 4 continuous and strict classes. With CIAs and deadlines, CHRIST has no freedom.

The Security Guards are more powerful than faculty members here. As a serving faculty in CHRIST, I tell you, the university is running by instilling fear into the students. Fear of attendance shortage. If attendance is below 85% severe action is taken and a lot of fines are charged or even the student is not allowed for the examination. This is one way which university earns money by snubbing the students.

Faculty members are definitely qualified but most of them run away in 3 years average due to the amount of pressure put on faculty members. Even the management works on the policy of do or die. They either tune faculty members to be like them or they would replace them easily.

The quality of education depends on the aspirational teaching of faculty members. A mere PhD alone doesn’t make them good. It so happened that most dedicated and commited faculty members were forced to leave as they had not registered or completed their PhD course work in Faculty of Engineering. However, in Sciences (CS), really good set of faculty were replaced by low quality PhD holders from tamil nadu universities. They go more on policies rather than people.

Trust me, CHRIST UNIVERSITY may be a Christian Institution in the outlook but CMI priests running them are ruthless and are money making masters. As a Catholic, I’ve seen Jesuits who are true educators and these CMI priests are so called Business Minded Educators. CHRIST if this continues you will not only lose Faculty members but also your students, reputation and everything.

The University is now just CHRIST and was definitely not granted Autonomy by the UGC which makes it a Category 3 University in the UGC. It has been deteriorating every year and now 10 years as a University and 40 years as a college, CHRIST is entering into Golden Jubilee with only Good Infrastructure but low quality students and of course Low quality qualified faculty (At Least In FACULTY OF ENGINEERING at least 70% of them).

The student life is GREAT at Christ. I have done my fair share of complaining about it when there, but there's no doubt that the campus offers you a lot, such as a huge number of wonderful people as friends, a faculty which cares (if you happen to be lucky enough to be under the Psychology department at least, don't know much about the others) and quite a level of expertise, by the end of your course, in finishing whole dissertations a month before submission.

The long(ish) answer: Ignore the rule about the dress code and the number of people who complain about it. It's really not that big a deal, really.

One of the greatest perks that i will list here is the community of peers at Christ. You'll get to meet a variety of individuals. You can make a large number of great friends. Intelligent conversation, people into the latest trends, bookworms, otaku, Neil Gaiman enthusiasts *points at self*, impromptu jam session creators(?) in the food court...just a few of the kinds of people seen on a regular day in the campus. And the best part is: Everyone (okay, mostly everyone) is friendly and open-minded. So you won't have a hard time making friends.

Coming to the 'study' aspect of 'student life': Prepare yourself to work. Well you can choose not to as well, but you'd prefer to have had worked and put in your best at the end of three-five years. Or two, if you're a PG student. The CIAs (Continuous Internal Assessments) are quite the b*$@#&s. You might feel quite overwhelmed by them at times, but worry not, you can pull them off without breaking too much of a sweat. Try to do them decently at the least, and you shall be safe. I would, however recommend always putting in your best.

Be on good terms with the teachers, especially the ones in your departmentThis does not mean apple-polishing. If you have contradictory viewpoints, present them in a way that will not offend them. This goes for any educational institution, not just Christ.

You will be able to be more than above average in terms of grades, as long as you put in a consistent amount of middling to good to great amount of work into whatever your chosen course/subject is.

The Campus: Wonderful library, a HUGE one, in fact. Bunch of random birds at one end of the area, if that sort of thing interests you. Decent-tasting to fairly edible food (You might be surprised if the same food turns out different and better on another day. Try your luck!). Big-enough campus. Lots of spots to sit in/walk around.

I guess that's about all that comes to mind.

I hope I have answered your question. =) Please do ask if there's something specific you wanted to know that I missed or if you had meant something else entirely by the question.
