The College has received funding under the scheme for Autonomous Colleges and PARAMARSH for the year 2019-2020.
On being an autonomous institution, the college receives grants under the Scheme of Autonomous Colleges for the upliftment of the college infrastructure, teaching and research activities. The resources were used to encourage students to explore research opportunities while pursuing their undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Undergraduate students are involved in various ongoing research projects, hence inculcating a research aptitude. Postgraduate students are given guidance and are prepared for Competitive Exams and Research Fellowships for various funding agencies such as KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana), DST, DBT, ICMR, ISEC, IISc, WII, UGC, CSIR, Ford Foundation, UK-IERI, GATE, etc.
The college is recognized as one of the ‘Colleges with Potential for Excellence’ by UGC and is granted Basic Science Research Grants. With CPE-BSR Grant, the college has established Animal Tissue Culture, Simulation, and Food Processing Laboratories. Upgradation of existing laboratories has enabled staff and students to engage themselves in research activities that were at a minimal level. The percentage of faculty engaged in research and the number of publications of research papers in referred journals, presentations of research papers at Regional, National and International conferences has increased.
The college has started Innovative Programs – M.Sc. in Nanoscience and Technology, Human Rights and Values in Education, Event Management, Interior Space Planning and Design under Career Oriented add-on courses. Skill Oriented courses such as B.Voc. in Analytics, B.Voc. in Hospitality & Tourism, Diploma in Analytics and Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics under the Community College Scheme are approved and sponsored by UGC. UGC has also been funding several Research Projects, Seminars, Workshops and Conferences, FIP Programme & Travel Grants and International Seminars & Conferences. Two students are receiving fellowships to pursue Post Doctorates.
