Department Profile

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of BMSCE was established in 1971 with an initial intake of 60 students to the Under Graduate (UG) program and enhanced to an intake of 120 students from 1983 and 180 students from 2018. The department offers three Postgraduate Programmes “Electronics” from 1986, “Digital Communication Engineering” from 1996 with an intake of 18 students and “VLSI Design & Embedded Systems” from 2014 with an intake of 24 students.

The department is also a recognized Research Centre (RC) by VTU from 2002 and is a recognized Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) center by the AICTE from 2011. With these activities on-hand, the overall objective of the department is to contribute significantly, to the realization of the Vision of BMSCE. The department has formalized this objective in terms of its own Program Vision and Mission which are in-line with the Vision and Mission of the college.

BMS College of Engineering Fees Structure Details:

BMS College of Engineering offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of Engineering, Management, Architecture, and Computer Applications. The tuition fees for some of the programs are mentioned below:

• The course fee for BE is INR 22,060 per annum.
• Tech program course fee is INR 64,390 per year.
• MBA programs are offered at INR 54,390 per annum.
• The tuition fees for the B.Arch. program is INR 21,560 per year.

What is the eligibility for BE admissions in BMS?

The eligibility is to have a minimum of 45 % marks in 12th in Physics and Maths as a compulsory subject along with optional subjects like Chemistry, Biology,  Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics and English as Language.

BMS College Placements: The placements in BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore are really good. Every year, more than 80% of the students are placed in top companies. BMS College is visited by more than 100 companies every year for recruitments.

Placement Cell: The Placement Cell facilitates training in soft skills (like Personality Development, CV Writing, Communication Skills, Aptitude tests, Interview Technique etc.) to all students. The University has signed MOU's with TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Robert Bosch for various Industry-Institute interaction which is extremely beneficial for the students. Internship opportunities have been provided for students by various companies.
