The barbarian class is a solid choice for a party of any level. Their natural rage ability allows them to deal out massive amounts of damage in short order. However, they have a few drawbacks that you should consider before becoming their companion.
The first disadvantage is the need to reach level 10. If you are one of those players who does not like having to grind to make more gold then this class is not for you. They lack in item crafting and most other aspects that make up being a good tank. You will be one of the best tanks in the game if you do not play this character correctly.
Being a monk causes your mana to deplete fast. While it may seem like a hindrance to leveling, it is important to consider when you reach later levels. Having less mana means that you cannot have as much adrenaline or hit points. For this reason it is important to choose a class with mana management abilities.
The third drawback is that you are limited on gear and abilities when you choose this class. Your abilities depend on wearing heavy armor and getting hit often. With this armor only being effective against large enemies you will be forced to rely on support.
You can chain attack for rapid killing but you have to be standing still long enough. The ranged attacker, who has the advantage of range, has a deadly shot and can quickly kill you. These two characters easily destroy each other in one turn. They both have two special attacks that deal great damage.
The best way to play a Ranger/ Barbarian in a group is to play the monk. There are many options to select from in both PvP and PvE situations. The monk helps both parties as the ranged damage is great for taking out larger groups or taking down multiple enemies at once.
When playing the Ranger/ Barbarian class you should use the "Mane Power" talents first. This is what allows you to change to either a bow or a crossbow. The "Mana Drain" talents allow you to quickly drain your opponent’s mana or get them low enough that a tank can bring them down. Finally, pick up an "Aura Mastery" talent as this will increase your abilities tremendously. By using all three talents effectively you will be able to dominate any fight.
It can give you the ability to take on large amounts of damage with relative ease. If played correctly you will have an amazing gaming experience. If you don't want to just sit there you can do the quests and do some grinding. The play style of the Ranger/ Barbarian is one of the best classes in the game.
The Ranger has three different trees which are the Bonds, the Hunter specialization, and the Battle Fury tree. The Bonds tree focuses on improving pets and increasing damage with abilities while the Hunter specialty improves weapon skills and pets. Lastly there is the Battle Fury tree which increases your stamina with abilities that are very useful in raid situations. I suggest you pick all three trees so you have access to all the abilities. The Druid tree focuses on health with both the restoration skills webnews21.
In regards to armor this is one of the weaker specs in the game. The only real option you have is plate armor. So you need to make sure you have plenty of health. Having decent armor will also help out with stamina. In the beginning this spec will be quite a bit weaker but with time it will become a much stronger class.
You'll notice that this class is lacking in abilities that allow you to tank. I wouldn't consider this a problem as I think anyone who plays this character is aware of how weak they are. You can, however, use items that increase your health and stamina significantly. There aren't a whole lot of options for gear in this area. Which means you’re going to want to have it optimized for survivability?
This class is great if you want to be involved in a lot of PvP play or World of Warcraft Raids. The only real issue is the lack of tools in this area. There are guides that will help you out though. I would personally recommend looking into them and starting out with the Paladin because it's much more fun than the Barbarian.
