BMS College of Engineering is autonomous College at Bangalore. It provides thirteen undergraduate Courses and sixteen Post Graduate Courses. BMS College of Engineering includes Faculty and different members. BMS College of Engineering includes innovative laboratory facilities. Students get positioning in several MNCs like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft Engineering, etc. every year.BMSCE is the first private industry initiative in technology education in India.

Over the last 73 years of its illustrious existence, the institution has produced more than 40,000 engineers/leaders who have enriched the world through their immense gifts for humankind. Started with just 03 Certification classes, BMSCE now offers 13 under graduate & 16 Postgraduate courses both in conventional and emerging areas.

14 of its Departments are recognized as Research Centers that provide PhD/M. Sc (Engineering from Research) degrees in Science, Engineering and Management. The school has been effectively practicing outcome centered instruction. The College has among the largest student populations amongst engineering colleges in Karnataka. More than 350 research scholars have been pursuing their PhD Degree in BMSCE Research Centres.

What Is Chemical Engineering?

• Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that uses principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and economics to efficiently use, produce, transform, and transport chemicals, materials, and energy. A chemical engineer designs large-scale processes that convert chemicals, raw materials, living cells, microorganisms, and energy into useful forms and products.
• Chemical engineers are involved in many aspects of plant design and operation, including safety and hazard assessments, process design and analysis, control engineering, chemical reaction engineering, biological engineering, construction specification, and operating instructions. Chemical engineering degree is directly linked with all the majors of various engineering disciplines.

Department Profile

Currently the department runs two programs undergraduate in Chemical Engineering and post-graduation in Biochemical Engineering with an intake of 60 and 18 respectively. The Undergraduate program was started in the year 1995 with an intake of 30. Subsequently in the year 2002 the intake was increased to 60. The Postgraduate program, M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering was started in 2013-14 academic year with an intake of 24 initially and latter to 18 intake.

The department is one of the recognized Research Centre for Ph.D. and MSc. (Engg.) by research under V.T.U from the year 2004. Presently we have 6 Ph.D Holders in the department.
