Admission Process in Bangalore Institute of Technology

Bangalore Institute of technology (BIT) is one of the most reputed engineering colleges in Karnataka. It's in the top 10 list of best colleges in Karnataka. Now that you can get into BIT there are three ways you can do it.

1. If you've done your your PU or 12th standard in Karnataka then your eligible for writing CET(Common Enterance test).The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates to the First year or First semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the State of Karnataka. non-Karnataka students (students not eligible to be considered in the Karnataka quota) cannot appear for the CET.

You can write for this and to get a seat in engineering in BIT in the top branches (like CSE, ECE, MECH) and if you are a General merit person then you'll have to get a rank within 1000. For other branches you can get a rank around 3k.

2. The other way is through Comedk. A parallel entrance test is held by the Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association under the name of Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK). This is independant of the government conducted CET and is used to fill some part of the seats of certain engineering/medical/dental colleges in Karnataka.

Here any one from india can apply and the rank you need to get remains the same.

3.The third way is through Management seats.

Ans:  BIT, Bangalore doest have a ground and that's one of the basic requirement for a college to become autonomous. So BIT might never become autonomous.
