In KARNATAKA STATE, BIT was the pioneer in establishing the COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING department, with affiliation to BANGALORE UNIVERSITY in the year 1981. The syllabus was framed by then H.O.D. Prof. M. Ramakrishna, ever since the department has adopted and evolved with the fast pace of technology.

The Department offers Under-Graduation [UG], Post-Graduation [PG] and Research under VTU. PG programme, M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2008.

The Department has excellent infrastructure facilities with six labs, such as Algorithm & Data Structures, Database & Networking Labs, Web Technologies, System Software & Operating System Lab and The Microprocessor Lab, to prepare the techno savvy’s to conquer the demands of the IT industry, R&D organizations and computer related areas.

The objective is to educate, train and develop world class research and IT professionals with a mastery of not only hardware and software skills but also soft skills for professional success that helps 95% of the Computer Science students to get placed in top software companies like JP Morgan, Akamai, Accenture, Robert Bosch, IGate etc. Most of the students are offered higher pay packages from software giants like Linkedin, Adobe, Netapp, Cisco, Oracle etc.

BIT Bangalore Admission Process 2020

BIT Bangalore admission process 2020 is based on state/ national level examinations. Eligible students need to register online for all these examinations. The details regarding the selection process are mentioned below:

• BIT Bangalore BE/ BTech admission is based on a candidate's score in KCET or COMEDK UGET. Candidates with a valid JEE Main score are also eligible for admissions
• Admission to all the PG programmes is based on marks secured by a candidate in Karnataka PGCET. However, the institute also accepts GATE, CMAT and KMAT scores for offering admissions to MTech, MCA and MBA programmes respectively

BIT Bangalore Application Process 2020

BIT Bangalore application process is available only in the offline mode. Candidates are willing to seek admission need to download the application form from the official website and submit the same to the admission office of VTU along with a DD of Rs 800/- as application fee drawn in favour of ‘Finance Officer, VTU, Belagavi’. The steps for downloading the application form are mentioned below:

1. Visit the official website of Bangalore Institute of Technology (https://bit-bangalore.edu.in/)
2. Click on 'Programme Offered' tab
3. Click on the link of the programme in which you wish to seek admission
4. Now click on the 'Apply Now' tab. The application form opens up
5. Download the application form and take a print out of the same
6. Fill the application form carefully and attach the mandatory documents
