VIT University or VIT, formerly called Vellore Engineering College, is a private university in Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1984, as Vellore Engineering College, by G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 20 undergraduates, 34 postgraduate, four integrated and four research programs. It has campuses in Vellore and Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. A new 200-acre campus called VIT-AP located at Amaravati (the new state capital of Andhra Pradesh state) is under construction. Classes will be started in July 2017. N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and M. Venkaiah Naidu, a Union Minister, participated in the foundation ceremony.

Admission

VIT University admits students on the basis of merit through an online entrance exam. VIT organizes its own entrance exam, called the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE). It is conducted every year in the month of April and May. In 2015, over two lakh students or two hundred thousand students appeared for the entrance examination. The exam has been conducted online since 2013. The VITEEE has consistently been easier than other engineering entrance exams like JEE Mains (formerly AIEEE) and JEE Advanced (formerly IIT-JEE).

What is the placement process of the institution?

The institute has got a very good placement cell that helps in bringing the best of institutions in the university for the recruitment drive. Apart from that, the institute has got a very strong base of alumni who are sitting at the top positions in different reputed organizations across the globe.

The placement co-ordinates with the students and further help them to prepare for the recruitment drive such as enhancing their personality development, communication skills, leadership, and aptitude. The institute also has got great placement record in the past few years. In the last academic year, all the eligible students of the institution were placed with the highest package that was offered by 10 LPA while the lowest package that was offered was 4.5 LPA. Some of the major recruiters of the University for the Engineering Course are Google, Yahoo, Capgemini, Infosys, TCS to name a few.

Exam pattern

• All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
• The aptitude section in VITEEE will be in addition to subjects viz. Maths or Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English. The number of questions for the respective sections in VITEEE will be, Maths or Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions) and English (5 questions).
• No Negative marks for wrong answers

How to check VIT University Result?

1. Go to the official website of VIT University.
2. Click on ‘Result’ tab and a new web page will open.
3. Click on relevant link among the links available on the new page.
4. Enter your Roll Number/ DOB.
5. Click on ‘Show Results’ and the results will appear on your screen.
6. View your results and take a print out of it.
