Glamping in Yosemite has evolved into an art form, with high Sierra Camps offering backcountry tents and AutoCamp Yosemite featuring streamlined airstreams. Additionally, Wildhaven Yosemite began hosting glampers at its magnificent location in Mariposa, California, in close proximity to phrazle the southwestern corner of the national park, last month.
"Our views distinguish us from all other glamping destinations in California and the United States," co-owner Ken Barber told Travel + Leisure. "Throughout the state, we visited and stayed at nearly every establishment during the development of Wildhaven." The 36-acre property, which features 30 shelters and 12 cabins, is situated in close proximity to a 2,000-acre protected ranchland area. This results in expansive vistas of undulating hills, "which further immerses our guests in nature and detaches them from the bustle of the city," he continued. Additionally, the property offers a view of the snow-capped Sierra Mountains.
There is a nature trail that offers guests a glimpse of the town of Mariposa, and they are also invited to relax in the mountaintop pergola that provides breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset. In addition to wine, beer, and cider, the on-site facility provides s'mores packages, barbecue meals, and picnic supplies, among other culinary options.
Studio cabins feature an overhead mezzanine with a queen bed and space for up to three doubles, whereas one-bedroom cabins feature a futon settee and queen bed. A kitchen, restroom, shower, and a private outdoor fire pit are included in each option. Additionally, electricity, heat, and air conditioning are provided in each. A selection of tents featuring one or two queens, or a queen with two sets of bunk beds, are available for those who prefer tents.
