Guru Shri Gorakshnath Chikitsalaya was established in the year 2003 A.D by the blessings and ideologies of the devine Goragshpithadhishwar Brahmleen Mahant Avaidya Nath Ji Maharaj at the North end of Gorakhnath Mandir, the land of the Shivawtari Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakshnath Ji Maharaj has been always dedicated to the service of mankind.

Though the Guru Shri Gorakshnath Chikitsalaya was cradled on 10th march 2003 AD, it was officially inaugurated on 16th July 2003 AD by the then Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Mananiya Lal Krishna Adwani and many other dignitaries with 50 beds at that time.

Today Guru Shri Gorakshnath Chikitsalaya is adorned with latest gadgets with the capacity of 350 beds. The motive behind the Chikisalaya is not business but providing efficient medical support to the underprivileged who cannot afford efficient medical care which costs heavily lest it is provided at the chikitsalaya at minimal prices. To bring this to reality on one hand the chikitsalaya provides specialists doctors with economical fee and on the other hand the chikitsalaya is feathered with latest medical gadgets at the service.

The most neglected individual who cannot afford even the cheapest of medical support are helped by the chikitsalaya by organizing regular free medical camps as well we reach out camps at their door step to magnify the medical dimension.

The fame of the Gorakshnath temple is synonymous with the “seat of meditation” of Mahayogi Guru Gorakshnath ji. A legend says that this temple was initialy established as small monastry in “TRETA -YUG”. The temple complex, in its present magnificent and glorious from, has come about owing to the cantribution of the legendry saint BRAMMIEEN MAHANT DIGVIJAYNATH JI MAHARAJ as also the previous Gorakshpeethadhishwar BRAMMEEN MAHANT AVEDYANATH JI MAHARAJ. The temple is spread over in one hundred acre on the Gorakhpur-sonauli National High (NH 29 E).

Since independence, the Gorakshpeeth has been actively involved in serving the local populace in the field of YOGA, education, health and spiritual and religions well being. In order to fulfill its aim of building strong and capable nation, the Gorakshpeethadhishwar Brahmleen Mahant Digviyainath ji Maharaj established the MAHARANA PRATAP SHIKSHA PARISHAD in the Year 1932. The first institution of this trust namely Maharana Pratap inter College is still providing its serivicas to the society in the civil lines area of Gorakhpur city and is regarded as highly reputed institution. The Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad has since grown manifold, in the services of the nation, and now encompasses more than three dozen educational, vocational training and medical institution.

Continuing with its comitment to facilitate provision of quality higher education in the region, in 1958, the Gorakshpeeth offered the premises (to include the structure, area all its physical assets) of Maharana pratap Degree College for the establishment of the present day, Deen Dyal Upadhya Gorakhpur University. Till date, the Commerce and Education Faculty and also MBA Dept of DDU Gorakhpur University are functioning in the erstwhile Maharana Pratap Degree College Premises.

The organization has also had an astounding Contribution in the field of Medicine and Health care in the region. Under the stewardship of the then peethadhishwar Brahmleen Mahant Avedyanath ji Mahraj. The Digvijyainath Ayurved Chikitsalaya had been providing quality health care for the past 40 years. Continuing with this effort, in the year 2003 the Guru Shri Gorakshnath Chikitsalaya was established to cater to the requirement of provision of field of medical care appropriate, reliable and economical medical care and treatment is available to the ailing populace of the region , with modern and cast effective health care.

It is towards this end the present Gorakshpeethadhishwar Mahant Yogi Aditynath ji Mahraj with his inherent foresight, scientific and progressive thinking has envisaged to upgrade present hospital to facilitate the establishment of institute of medical scienas.

Eastern uttar Pradesh is still trailing behind in the field of education, health care and development. The deficiency of health Care and treatment facilifies in the public/Government sects is being taken care by Gorakshpeeth through their various institutions and such as Mahant Digvijainath Ayurved Chikitsalaya, Guru Shree Gorakshnath Chikitsalaya Presently has an capacity of 350 Beds, including 50 crisis expantion beds and Brahmleen Mahant Avedyanath primary health centre (Sachal Dal) .
