Kendriya Vidyalaya , AMC, Lucknow is one of the pioneer Vidyalaya of the Country. It was established in the year 1963, then known as Central school, under Central School Organisation (now Kendriya Vidayalaya Sangathan). Central School Organisation was started as a unit of the Minister of Education (now Ministry of the Human Resource Development) of the Government of India.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan elevated the status of Kendriya Vidyalaya, AMC, Lucknow as a Model Kendriya Vidyalaya in the session 1999-2000. It had again been bestowed with the   honour of smart school in the year 2000-2001. The Vidyaya has become a centre of excellence in the academic as well as in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Kendriya Vidyalya AMC, Lucknow is catering to the education from classes I to XII to the education from classes I to XII to the wards of defence personnel, central and state Government employees and floating population. The Vidyalaya is endeavouring to turn the students the ideal citizens of the country.
