PESU RR is managed by the People's Education Society (PES), which founded the institution in 1972, in a rented gymnasium in Bengaluru, with around 40 students. PES currently manages over 45 educational programs in Karnataka and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, with a total of over 15000 students. PESU was founded in the year 1988.

University comprise over 3.5 million square feet of built up area and acres of open grounds. With a 750 bed hospital, the PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at Kuppam, has a built-up area of more than 1 million square feet, The PES University campus sprawls over 25 lush acres. PESIT South Campus will be a part of multi-disciplinary University Campus.

Method to Admission: Register and take PESSAT/ KCET/ both (if eligible) and participate through counselling to compete for a merit seat based on PESSAT/ KCET rank. Provisional blocking of seats through higher-fee / management / NRI / PIO / OCI / Sponsored quota is also possible.
