Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology Bangalore (Sir MVIT) is an Institute of repute in the state of Karnataka (founded by Sri Krishnadevaraya academic Trust). The institute offers 9 B.E. degree programs. Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology Bangalore (Sir MVIT) is about 1km off the Bangalore International airport Road in Yelahanka. Bus facility is also provided by the college at an additional Rs. 11,000/- per year.

Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology Bangalore College is pretty old and the infrastructure is very well maintained. There are 2 hostels at Sir MVIT. This institute is quite stubborn about attendance issues. Seventy fifth is mandatory and everyone complies with it. MVIT’s distant location doesn’t stop any of them from coming right from central Bangalore or even South Bangalore at least half of the people here are from proper Bangalore.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1987. The department offers four year UG program (B.E). The department is recognized as a centre of excellence in the institute. The department offers a stimulating environment for the students to execute their in-house project works.

The department has a sound infrastructure with well facilitated laboratories and classrooms. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculties with vast experience and diverse specializations. The core competency is mainly in the area of power system, power electronics and drives, signal processing, VLSI, distributed generation systems, etc. Department was recognized as an R&D centre by VTU in the year 2002. The department has successfully carried out funded projects funded by various organisations.

Scholarships at MVIT are offered by the State Government of Karnataka. There is the scholarships portal established by the State Government for the student’s purpose.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST and other minority category only can apply through this scholarship portal. Other backward students should apply for the scholarships in the E-pass portal or should contact the Welfare Department of Backward Classes.

• Tribal Welfare Department offers Post-Metric Scholarships for ST students.

• Department of Technical education offer Fee reimbursement for the Diploma and Engineering SC/ST candidates.

Sir MVIT Bangalore Courses offered and Fee Structure

Sir MVIT offers 18 engineering courses on UG and PG level. B.E courses include subjects like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Information Science and Engineering. BE (Lateral Entry) courses include subjects like Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering etc.

The M.Tech course includes subjects like Electronics, Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Biotech. & Biochemical Engineering.

These courses are offered in full-time options with a duration of two to four years. Sir MVIT fees structure for M. Tech course is 1.31 lakhs and for B. E, it is 2.38 lakhs.
