RV College of Engineering Bangalore was established in 1963. The non-funded institute is run by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). Later on, the Government of India recognized this college as a Centre of Excellence under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Program).

An Interdisciplinary Research Center IEDRC) was established for students in 2000 for the study of Micro and Nanoengineering research areas.

The institute offers 31 engineering courses on different academic levels such as undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The RV College of Engineering branches includes subjects like Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Power Electronics etc.

National Institutional Ranking Framework has ranked the institute 58 among other engineering colleges in India in 2018 against the 49th place among other colleges in 2017. Outlook India’s R.V College of Engineering ranking is in the top 35 engineering colleges in India 2018.

R.V. College of Engineering is counted among the top ten best engineering colleges in Bangalore. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and accredited by NBA.

- R.V College of Engineering is an autonomous institution affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological Institute (VTU), Belgaum. The degree is awarded by the parent institution, VTU.

• Are there any seats reserved through management quota in RVCE?

- 20% of the total seats are reserved for admission in RVCE under management quota. The management quota seats are costlier than the normal merit seat but still, many students and parents are willing to pay for admission in RVCE under management quota.

• Is RVCE College AICTE approved?

- Yes, RV College of Engineering is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is an autonomous institution under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi (VTU).

• Scores of which all entrance examinations are considered for UG admission in RV College?

- Scores of entrance examinations like KEA or COMED-K or JEE Mains are considered for RVCollege of Engineering Undergraduate admission.

Documents Required

• 10th and 12th original mark sheets.
• Original admission order issued by KEA.
• If students have qualified other than PU Board of Karnataka, then they must submit Original Transfer & Migration certificates.
• If seat claimed under category, then they have to submit relevant category / Income / Rural / Kannada Medium / Hyderabad Karnataka / Sports / NCC / Defence / J&K Resident Certificates.
• Photocopy of student aadhaar card.
• Photocopy of PAN card of parents.
• 3 sets of attested photocopies of the above documents.
• 2 recent color passport size photographs & 1 stamp size photograph.
• For students who studied outside India, copy of Passport & Visa required.
