About the department

The department offers B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with an annual intake of 120 students, M.Tech in Product Design and Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Machine Design with an annual intake of 90 students. Research and Development established in 1986 offers M.Sc. (Engg), Integrated Ph.D. And Ph.D. programmes under VTU, Belagavi. Both B.E (Mechanical Engineering) and M.Tech are Autonomous programmes.

B.E in Mechanical Engineering got accredited by NBA, New Delhi for three years in 2000, for five years in 2003, 2008 and for three years in 2015 and 2018. M.Tech in Product Design and Manufacturing got accredited for three years in 2014. M.Tech in Machine Design got accredited for two years in 2018.

The department is engaged in sponsored research, consultancy, testing and characterization majorly in the areas of advanced materials development, processing and design. Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechtraonics (ADAM) was started in 2018 in collobration with Mercedes-Benz.

R.V. College of Engineering BE Selection Criteria

• For selecting candidates, R V College of Engineering considers the score of KCET exam for those who belong to the state of Karnataka.
• While for students belonging to other states, selection will depend upon the exams such as COMEDK and any other national entrance test.
• Applicants with a valid rank in the above exams have to appear for the counselling.
• KCET qualified students have to appear in KCET Counselling conducted by KEA and COMEDK qualifiers have to attend the COMEDK Counselling.
• During the counselling, applicants have to fill the choice of college and course
• Seats will be allotted based on the choices filled and score obtained in the entrance exam.
• Around 45% of seats are filled through KCET, 30% through COMEDK and remaining 25% through Management Quota.
• The selected candidates have to submit the required documents and pay the required amount of fees to confirm their admission.

RVCE Bangalore Courses offered and Fee Structure

R.V. College of Engineering Bengaluru offers many undergraduate and postgraduate programs on different engineering subjects.

RV College of Engineering courses in the B. Tech program includes subjects like Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Product Design and Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering and Management, Machine Design etc. M. Tech program includes subjects like Digital Communication, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Power Electronics, Tool Engineering etc.

Full-time courses are available in the institute with a duration of two to four years. The RV College of Engineering fee structure of the M. Tech and B. Tech courses range between 1.29 lakhs and 2.38 lakhs, respectively. RV College of Engineering eligibility depends on the academic record of the student.
