NBA 2K23 hasn't been officially announced, but most think it will be released in on the second week in September. The release date is just near, we still haven't heard about any features, or even seen the cover models confirmed, though multiple leaks are circulating. Whichever athlete is on the cover or the number of the 10 items we'd love to see make it into this year's game It's pretty much certain that NBA 2K23 MT will be short the one feature that Madden 22 has to offer.



Madden 22 introduces Momentum Factors to their gameplay. They are meant to replicate the tug-of war that occurs in one NFL game. In addition they add a home-field advantage element with every NFL team owning a unique M-Factor which can be activated during the game. The home-field M-Factors were created to be connected to the team, the stadium and city. As I sat in on the exclusive preview at the beginning of June I couldn't help but wonder to myself, man what would be cool if NBA 2K had an option like this within their game?



The Home Court advantage in the NBA is powerful. It's possible to make an argument to the effect that the NBA is the best at utilizing home-court advantage in any sport. It's a reason teams battle to the death for an average of 82 games (in the normal season) to gain the right to have more games on their court in the playoffs. These runs could be the result of, or described as shifting momentum. This implies that 2K ought to have had a momentum mechanic.
