What is the application process for PESSAT?

Applying for PES University is by taking an exam called PESSAT. This is an exam formulated by PES college for all its applicants. It is quite straightforward and can be done online. Below mentioned is an outline of the process:

• Go to the PES university website https://pessat.pes.edu.
• Click the Register now button.
• Ensure to fill up all the required details correctly.
• Upload scanned copies of photographs and documents required and confirm.
• You will be directed to the payments page, wherein you will have to pay a sum of INR 1050 as a registration fee.
• Registration fee can be paid either via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Challan/ DD in favor of “PES University General Fund” payable at Bangalore.
• In case of payment via Demand Draft or a DD, you need to procure the DD from a bank and fill-in all the required details.
• Once done you can click Submit to complete the application process.
• Make sure to take a print out of the form and send it in an envelope to the following address:

What are the Eligibility Criteria for applying to PES University?

The basic criteria to apply or get through at PES is an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in the 12th standard or equivalent. There 7 disciplines or specializations one can avail in PES University. The number of seats in each vary. In Biotechnology & Civil Engineering it is 60 seats. Computer Science has the highest intake of students with 600 seats. The second highest is Electronics and Communication with 360 seats. Electrical and Electronics have 120 seats, while Mechanical Engineering has 240 seats.

Admission Process:

Admission to PES University is done through common entrance test PESSAT. This test is conducted for each course. However, those who have scores of a national level entrance exam in their concerned stream can also apply.

PESU admits 40% of its students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET and 60% seats based on PESSAT (the university’s own entrance test) ranks. PESU also admits students under Management quota, which does not place any merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering.
