Millions of adults in India still cannot read a bus sign, a medicine label or their own bank passbook. India Humanity Foundation runs the DIKSHA adult literacy program, where trained student volunteers teach adults in their own homes and neighbourhoods. As of March 2026, the program has reached 4,00,000+ adults across 22 states. Learners finish with a Grade-III level assessment conducted by IHF.
