Ques 1. Am I eligible to pursue LLB after 12th Commerce?

Ans: Yes, one can pursue the LLB course after having completed an undergraduate in the Commerce stream.

 

Ques 2. What is the duration of the LLB course?

Ans: There are two options to pursue LLB course. One is the 3-year course for which the minimum eligibility criterion is graduation and the other is an integrated course of 5-year duration for undergraduate students.

 

Ques 3. Can one pursue LLB after 12th Science?

Ans: Yes, one can pursue an LLB course even after studying Science at the senior secondary level.

What is the difference between a BA LLB/ BCom LLB/ BBA LLB degree and LLB degree?

A: The only difference between an LLB and a BA LLB/ BCom LLB/ BBA LLB degree is of the duration of courses i.e. BA LLB is of five-years duration and an LLB degree is of three-years duration but candidates already would have completed a bachelor degree of three years which makes it -  3+3 = 6 years.

LLB Program Eligibility:

The minimum eligibility criteria for pursuing this course are listed below:

  • Successful completion of graduation in any discipline.
  • Minimum aggregate marks in graduation are required for general category and the marks are relax-able for reserved categories.
  • There is also a criterion for minimum marks required in graduation which may vary from institute to institute.
  • There is no age limit for taking admission in this course.

 

How Can One Pursue Law Course in India and Become A Lawyer?

There are two ways in which one can study Law in India-

  • After 12th (by opting for 5 years long Integrated Law course after 12th)
  • After Graduation (by opting for 3 years long L.L.B. course after Graduation from any Discipline)

After completing Law Education using any one of the above mentioned method, one may enroll with the Bar Council of India and become an Advocate. One may also go for further studies and study advanced courses like- LL.M., M.B.L., M.B.A. etc.
