About Institution:
Dr.GV founded Vellore Engineering College in 1984 at Vellore. He envisaged that this institution would offer world-class education to students who would in turn create an indelible impact on the society. The engineering college that started with an intake of 180 students in 1984 has evolved as a university with two campuses. Over 25,000 students are enrolled in 53 undergraduate and graduate programs with nearly 16,000 residing on the campus.
It attracts students and professors from different parts of the world. It houses more than 1000 international students on campus. For the past two years, VIT University has been ranked #1 private engineering institution in India. ISO Certification from Holland, International accreditation from the United Kingdom and the USA, and the highest accreditation grade from the Government of India reflect the University’s penchant for excellence on all fronts.
Hostel/accommodation (along with the facilities provided) :
23 hostels are located in VIT campus. There are 17 Men's Hostels, which accommodate 13000 students in single, double, Three, four bedded and six bedded rooms. A gym facility is also attached with a well maintained swimming pool. The 6 Women's Hostels have room for 4300 students. Women students have access to gym facilities and a newly built swimming pool inside one of these hostel premises. Individual metering service for those who want A/C facilities is also provided. Optional washing services are provided in well maintained separate washing areas.
Who is eligible to apply for VITEEE?
Ans: The candidates who are appearing in 10+2 or have appeared in 10+2 in the year 2020 are eligible for VITEEE 2020. However, the candidates must have an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Foreign Candidates who studied or is studying abroad can apply directly, but only through foreign category. A separate application form is made available for them. 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE.
How many questions are asked in VITEEE?
Ans: A total of 125 questions are asked in VITEEE. There are 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology section and 05 questions from English. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 mins. Each correct answer gets you 1 marks and there is no negative marking.
